The Global coursebook mentions learning about family history through different research methods such as interviewing people, consulting archives, and looking up records. Today, we will bring the city and history together and put some of these research skills to use by delving behind the mere news stories that we reported on last class. The AUA Library Director will give a talk about the library's history and then take you around to see its features and facilities. Browse through some of the links for this week and next week and find out how such context clues are given in real usage. This might be a sentence in which the word is given along with clues to its meaning or it might be a paragraph that contains information that helps you guess the meaning of the unfamiliar word used in it. Write down (or print) one example of context clue(s) given in an actual article or talk and bring it to class.
