It has 2 parts: Part I (worth around 45 points) consists of three essay-type questions on seen poems from p. 56 to the end of the coursebook; Part II (worth about 25 points) expects responses of short and medium length to five questions on an unseen poem. ! Midterm is Tuesday, July 22, 2008, 12–2 p.m. in BRK 303. There will be two parts: Part I (35 points) covers course material from reading and discussion through allegory and Rossetti's Up-Hill (Coursebook from beginning to page 54). It consists of 3 essay questions that require you to demonstrate your comprehension of course material and your critical, analytical skills in writing that is clear, organized and shows you can synthesize information; Part II (15 points) is on an unseen poem, mostly short-answer.
