Translation 1 Ex-Soldier faces drug trafficking charge Chiang Mai – Border Patrol Police arrested a former soldier on a drug trafficking charge Friday afternoon. Capt. Arun Srichan, 56, was arrested in front of Chiang Mai University while in possession of 20 kilograms of raw opium and 500 grams of heroin, both hidden under the front seat of the defendant's black Toyota. Srichan confessed that he was delivering the drugs to a dealer in Chiang Rai. Police confiscated the drugs as well as the defendant's car, and found evidence leading to two other suspects involved in this trafficking: Sampan Kaeowichien and Narong Kamwong, prominent businessmen in Prae Province who will be called in for interrogation. |
