Report Card as of November 1, 1996

Below is a list of work accomplished up to the previous month on various research endeavor:

MATIC and NECTEC Cooperation

Goals: cooperation on Automative Industry and Electronics Industry via WG1 and WG2, respectively

Issues
WG1 Operational Training
WG2 R&D of prototype, Conceptual study, R&D of information and shared database models for use in concurrent engineering

Concensus
WG1 Operation will commence at the beginning of 1997. TMC and TMT will link up directly to conduct pilot run. NECTEC should participate in technology transfer employing our staff (Dr. Suthee and Thitipon). Equipment support is under way through local computer distributors.
WG2 In 6 months: standardization of system architectural configuration in the areas of data structures, user interface, look and feel, etc.

Project Plan

public announcement of MATIC in NECTEC 10th Anniversary
demonstration of Electronic Yellow Pages 3 months (completed)
Electronic Catalog 1 year (in progress)
CAD plug-in browsing and simulation 2 years (in progress)
industrial and commercial provider 2 years (planning)
  • supplier database
  • engineering database
  • material database
CALS 5 years (discussion)

Problems and Difficulties
