LANGUAGE INSTITUTE

Achara Wongsothorn is the 7th director of the Chulalongkorn University Language Institute. She obtained her Ph.D in Foreign Language Research and Education from University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. She has worked at the Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University, the Central Institute of English Language of the Ministry of University Affairs and at CULI where she has served as Deputy Director for Research and Services, for National Academic and International Affairs and as Head, Division of English for Social Sciences and the Humanities. She was the editor of the PASAA Journal and the president of Thailand’s TESOL. Her academic interests include testing, research and syllabus design. She has published books and articles in ELT specialising in language testing, evaluation and research here and abroad.
