Course Title Analytical Techniques and Instrumentation in Clinical Chemistry

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Theory and principle, procedure, support materials treatment and application of sample, detection and quantitation by using the following instruments: photometer & spectrophotometer, atomic absorption spectrometer, flame photometer, fluorometer , pH meter, ion selective electrode, and electrochemistry.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this course the students should be able to explain the general principles of each analytical technique, compare and contrast the various analytical techniques, discuss existing clinical applications for each analytical technique, out line the preventive maintenance procedures, describe the operation , component parts of the following instruments: photometer & spectrophotometer, atomic absorption spectrometer, flame photometer, fluorometer , pH meter, ion selective electrode, and electrochemistry.
