Abstract
The problem of Stereophonic Acoustic Echo Cancellation (SAEC) lies in the lack of information supplied by two similar stereo signals from a common source. In this paper, we present a signal decorrelation scheme for SAEC in a subband environment. Higher-order time-varying allpass filters are employed in certain subbands and a non-linearity in others, depending on the masking capabilities of the speech. This provides improved decorrelation overall whilst preserving the original sound quality of the speech.
