เมื่อวันที่ 4 ก.พ. ตำรวจ สน.เตาปูน ได้รับแจ้งเหตุเพลิงไหม้อาคาร 5 ชั้น บนถนนกรุงเทพฯ-นนทบุรี เขตบางซื่อ จึงประสานขอรถดับเพลิง 2 คัน เข้าไปยังที่เกิดเหตุ เจ้าหน้าที่ดับเพลิงใช้เวลากว่า 1 ชั่วโมงจึงควบคุมเพลิงไว้ได้ จากนั้นจึงเร่งค้นหาผู้ที่ยังตกค้างในอาคาร ในขณะเดียวกันเจ้าหน้าที่กู้ชีพนำผู้บาดเจ็บ 4 ราย ส่งโรงพยาบาล โดยเด็กชายวัย 5 ขวบ ที่นำตัวออกจากอาคารที่เกิดเหตุมีอาการสาหัส ส่วนนายอำนาจ งามสุริยะโรจน์ เจ้าของอาคาร ตกบันได บาดเจ็บเล็กน้อย แพทย์ให้กลับบ้านได้ อีก 2 ราย ยังรักษาตัวอยู่ที่โรงพยาบาลจากอาการสำลักควัน

ร.ต. อ.นพดล คงบุญสุข รอง สว. สน.เตาปูน เปิดเผยว่า ขณะนี้ยังไม่ชัดเจนว่าสาเหตุของเพลิงไหม้ครั้งนี้คืออะไร แต่เป็นไปได้ว่าอาจเกิดจากไฟฟ้าลัดวงจร เนื่องจากเจ้าของตึกให้การว่า ขณะเกิดเหตุเป็นช่วงเวลาที่คนในบ้านเข้านอนหมดแล้ว เจ้าหน้าที่ต้องตรวจสอบที่เกิดเหตุอย่างละเอียดเพื่อหาสาเหตุที่แท้จริงของไฟไหม้ ครั้งนี้ต่อไป

Translation 1: Sample for Critique

Tao Pun Station police received report of a 5-story building fire on Bangkok-Nonthaburi Road, Bangsue District on Feb. 4 and requested 2 fire engines to the scene. Crews took over an hour to control the blaze, after which they began searching for victims still inside while rescue workers transported 4 injuries to the hospital. A 5-year-old boy brought out of the building is in serious condition. The owner, Amnat Ngamsuriyaroj, who fell down the stairs and had minor injuries has been released from the hospital. Two others are still being treated for smoke inhalation.

Tao Pun Police Station Deputy Inspector Pol. Capt. Nopadol Kongbunsuk said the cause of the fire is still unclear but a short circuit is a possibility as the building owner said the fire occurred at a time when residents had all gone to bed. Officers will be carefully inspecting the site for the actual cause.

Translation 2: Sample for Critique

On February 4, police at Tao Poon Police Station were notified that a fire had broken out at a five-storey building on Bangkok-Nontaburi Road, Bang Sue District. They asked for two fire trucks to be sent to the scene. It took the firemen more than an hour to contain the fire. The authorities then hastened to search for the people who were still being trapped in the building, while rescue workers took four injured people to the hospital. A five-year-old boy who was taken out of the building was in a critical condition. Mr. Amnaj Ngamsuriyaroj, the owner of the building, who had fallen down the stairs and was slightly injured, did not have to be hospitalized. However, the other two who suffered from smoke inhalation are still in hospital.

Pol. Capt. Noppadon Kongbunsuk, Sub-Inspector at Tao Poon Police Station, revealed that at the moment police still cannot definitely identify the cause of the fire. However, the fire was likely caused by a short circuit, since the building owner said that everyone in the family had gone to bed when the fire broke out. The authorities will further inspect the scene more thoroughly in order to identify the true cause.
