Land boss shot dead on property

On April 1, at 0:30 a.m., Pol. Lt. Gen. Sapas Prakanpitak, Inspector of Bang Phli Provincial Police Station, Samut Prakan Province, received a call that two men had been shot on an empty lot on Bangna-Trad Road in Bang Phli District, and rushed to the scene with crew from Ruam Katanyu Foundation. At the scene, they found only a pool of blood and learned that the injured have been taken to the hospital, later identified as Paisal Sutirak, 38, the land owner, shot in the forehead and died later, and Amnaj Iam-on, 30, shot in the right shoulder resulting in a severe injury.

Investigation revealed the shooter, Laem Kongpan, 54, employed to look after that piece of land. Before the incident, the killed man with five workers were setting off firecrackers on the property, putting Laem, who had been sleeping, in a rage and who then took out a gun and fired off the shots that resulted in the death and injury before fleeing. Laem and the dead victim have a history of wage disputes, and police are looking to bring Laem in to face trial.
