! Practice translation for section 9I have put the following texts on reserve at the Arts Library in Maha Vajiravudh Building. Ask the staff for the reserved materials for acharn Puckpan's translation class and they should give you the first two books and four plastic folders containing the last four selections. Please choose a short passage (I don't expect more than 20 lines) you like from any work on this list, translate it, and e-mail it to me by Monday, February 25 as practice and review for this week and for finals. Have fun!

! Final ExamThe final exam takes place on Wednesday, February 27, 2013, 8:30-11:30 a.m. in BRK rooms 401, 403, 404, 504 and 604. Please check the official listing where you are assigned. There are five parts to the exam, each worth 20 points, corresponding to the five tests:

  • Part 2: news (Thai-English)
  • Part 3: informative text (English-Thai)
  • Part 4: informative text (Thai-English)
  • Part 5: expressive text (English-Thai)

Requirements and Expectations

  • Attendance and Participation: Discussion about translation will be a big part of this class and students are encouraged to express their opinions, share observations and ask questions. Complete your translation exercises before class and come prepared to discuss your work and problems and issues you've encountered.

  • There will be five tests and a final
