It is useful to take a few minutes before writing to formulate a clear, focused, and engaging topic sentence to begin your paragraph, and outline/organize vivid examples to illustrate and support that topic sentence. Review the basics of paragraph writing and guide to the illustration (example) paragraph in your supplement packet (pp. 122 of the Paragraph Writing section) and practice with the exercises provided there.
