จง แปลสารคดีต่อไปนี้เป็นภาษาอังกฤษ

 

คลอง ในยุคแรกนั้นน่าจะขุดขึ้นเพื่อนำน้ำจากแม่น้ำหรือทะเลสาบเข้ามายังบริเวณ ที่แห้งแล้ง บางครั้งคลองก็สร้างขึ้นในแม่น้ำที่ตื้นกิน กว่าที่เรือจะใช้สัญจรได้  ส่วนคลองที่ใช้เพื่อการคมนาคมมีอยู่ด้วยกัน 2 ประเภทหลัก คือ คลองสำหรับเรือเดินสมุทรและคลองสำหรับเรือสินค้า  คลองที่เก่าแก่ที่สุดสายหนึ่งสร้างขึ้นโดยชาวอียิปต์เมื่อเกือบ 4,000 ปีมาแล้ว  คลองสายนี้เชื่อมระหว่างแม่น้ำไนล์กับทะเลแดง   เรือเดินสมุทรสามารถแล่นจากทะเลเมดิเตอเรเนียนไปยังทะเลแดงได้โดย ล่องไปตามแม่น้ำไนล์ และผ่านคลองเส้นนี้  เมื่อหลายร้อยปีก่อน คลองดังกล่าวถูกทำลายไป  ปัจจุบัน คลองสุเอซซึ่งเป็นคนละเส้นทางกันใช้เชื่อมทะเลเมดิเตอเรเนียนกับทะเลแดง โดยตรง 

 

Translation 1

The earliest canals were probably dug to siphon water from rivers or lakes into dry areas. Sometimes these waterways were created in rivers too shallow for boats to pass through. Transportation canals can be divided into two main types: those for ocean vessels and those for cargo ships. One of the oldest canals was built by the Egyptians almost four thousand years ago linking the Nile and the Red Sea. Ocean-bound ships can access the Red Sea from the Mediterranean through this passage. Several hundred years ago, this canal was destroyed. Now, the Suez, which is a different route, directly links the two seas.
