      Each student prepares a mock informative text (Thai-English) test for classmates to practice online and to discuss. Be creative about how you design your test to assess effectively the language issues and proficiency in Thai and English that we have worked on thus far. Your file should reach my e-mail inbox during the weekend before March 28 so I have time to download in preparation for class. Have fun challenging each other!
      • Topics for assessment: sentence boundaries, omitted subjects/objects, topic-comment, person, number, tense/aspect, serial verb construction, passive voice, meanings and uses of it (ex. dummy it, donkey anaphora, pronoun), articles and demonstratives, diction (collocation, register, false friends/cognates), text analyses (text types, audience, medium)
      • Authentic Thai source text preferable (not translated from or informed by English, so language issues unique to Thai can realistically be presented)
      • Translation collection (Mock test takers, post your English texts to the shared document.)
